Jordanian students at UP

The University of Pécs Medical School International Studies Centre welcomes more than a hundred new students at its preparatory course through the Stipendium Hungaricum fellowship for the academic year 2014/15. The opening ceremony of the program on the 27 October was given by Dr Gyula Zeller, vice rector of the UP, Dr Attila Miseta, dean of Medical School UP, Dr Ferenc Gallyas, head of the English Program at the Medical School UP and Dr Reza Hemmati scientific advisor of UP MS ISC, representative of Pécs Medical School. The opening ceremony was conducted by dr Ella Almos.

During the warm up week of the program in lectures given by professors of the university, students have the opportunity to become familiar with the Hungarian language and culture and they also get acquainted with the city of Pécs.

According to Lilla Kolos, the Head of the English Programme of the UP MS ISC: students are given general and academic English courses, participate in professional lectures, and prepare them for their entrance exams to several Hungarian universities within the framework of the programme running between 3 November 2014 and 30 May 2015. Students begin their preparatory studies from the upcoming week in the new, 21st century study environment of the ISC (Dohány street, Z building of the Faculty of Law) in the cooperation of the teachers from International Studies Centre and those of the Medical School.

Out of 22 thousand students studying at the UP, the number of foreign students is 2283. Within the framework of the English Preparatory Program of the ISC there are 170 foreign students, and an additional 100 studying in the Hungarian Program.
