Dr. Zalán Szántó received a Tüke Medal, and Mária Dorothea Pozsonecz received a Life-Saving Medal

Of huge interest the Tüke awards were handed over in the Lapidarium for the 15th time.

This year Dr. Zalán Szántó, senior lecturer and unit manager at the Clinical Centre Surgery Clinic received the Tüke Foundation Medal. He gained the citizens’ appreciation with a smartphone application developed by him, with which the risk of lung tumour can be assessed uniquely and the early stage can be recognised.  

Mária Dorothea Pozsonecz, student of the University of Pécs Medical School received a Life-Saving Medal: she resuscitated her classmate in March 2016 whose heart stopped as a result of a sudden sickness. In her laudation she said that her professional, exemplary, brave, quick and confident intervention brought her classmate back to life.
